today started out really rocky and work certainly did not make my day any easier but, after a session of retail therapy and some yogurt, things started to look up.
and my day was completely turned around when these girls appeared on my doorstep.

i spent the majority of my teenage years nannying these chicks and i loved them like sisters. i spent more time with them than my friends. we played night games, prank-called, talked about boys, had sleepovers, and made up dances. besides that, their beautiful mom was my go to for advice and counsel on most any subject and their brothers would tackle me, make fun of me, and tell me all about their favorite sports.
if you are allowed to have a second family, the bird's would be mine.
two years ago, michigan took them from me and although it was really hard to say goodbye, it's been fun to keep in contact and to watch these kiddos grow from a distance.
tonight we drove around, blasted music, and watched fireworks.
boy have i missed them!
after cruising with the children my little brother, shelbey and i headed up to sundance for the moonlight ride.
a classic summer tradition.

even the roughest days can be made better by good friends and family.
you know what? god is incredible.
i'm so lucky and blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.
he sure is watching out for us.
i definitely just added that full moon ski lift ride to my bucket list.
