my head and my heart

i really believe that you can find God in nature and when you find God, you feel peace.  i think that's why i so enjoy the mountains and why i have a love affair with hawaii.  you realize how amazing and real God is when you see first hand his masterpieces.  i am in constant awe at his beauty and power; not only his power to create such a beautiful world but i am also in awe at his guiding influence in my life.  it's kind of crazy how one day you can be so set on part of your future but, for some reason the Lord has something completely different in store for you.  it's difficult not knowing the reason for the change and it's difficult not knowing what's to come--so many doubts come flooding in, so many questions, so many fears.  but i find immense amounts of comfort in the fact that the Lord knows me personally, he knows what i need and when i need it. his timing is perfect and his ways are pure.  

i recently read the talk "face the future with faith" by russell m. nelson and one of my favorite quotes from it was that, "we do not need to let our fears displace our faith. we can combat those fears by strengthening our faith."  

i am so thankful for the knowledge that i have of Christ and his love for me.  He is real, his love is real and i know that with him by my side, i can do all things.
