the beauty of it

Monday, December 3, 2012

well, today has been one of those days-- to say the least.
however, the tears and frustrations have been small in comparison to the beauty and love that surround me.
i mean,  just look at that candy-cotton sky, those foamy waves, and the happy faces below.
could i be anymore blessed?
 i would argue no.

also,
i like this song.

i have been trying to find something to post about for a while now but, to no avail.

...maybe my life would be a pretty fitting topic.

i spend most of my days on campus, in class, and in the library.  school, school, school.  work, work, work.  i am incredibly busy and the days are flying by--- is it really october?  i am having a hard time believing that i am a junior in college. kinda freaky.  however frightening the concept of "growing up" may be, i am thrilled for the future.  honestly, thrilled.

i went to a forum the other day where one of my professors discussed graduate school options for conflict resolution.  you can bet that i started crying.   there is nothing better than knowing you are where you are suppose to be and that you are doing what you are suppose to be doing.  i have such great classes, incredible teachers, a good job, amazing friends, and i live across from the beautiful, blue ocean.  how could life get any better?

i don't ever want to take a day for granted out here.  my walks to and from school, daily conversations with bobby, the sand that gets everywhere, my sweaty and tan skin, no food in the fridge, or car to drive.  it's such a simple life but, i know it won't remain this way forever.

every wednesday morning i get to play at the beach with these lovely ladies and their brother.  they catch crabs and play in the waves, throw sand at my back and burry my feet.  can i take them home with me?

in my last post i mentioned how happy i have been lately and although i attributed it all to the gospel, here are just a couple of other things that have put me over the edge when it comes to my happiness...

halloween cookies, my little lover boys, my hilarious roommate (gosh, i wish you could all just have her for a day to experience her awesomeness), halloween decorations, the temple, beautiful sunsets, soaking up the sun at waimea and most importantly this boy is back on the island:

third times a charm right? this happened last friday while surfing. curse my weak ankles.

i know it is wednesday and despite my injury, i had a very enjoyable weekend. conference was inspiring.
my angel of a landlord invited us to eat lunch with her family.
which meant i got to spend some quality time with these two:

we ate hamburgers, turkey, cupcakes and otai. i think i gained somewhere around 500 pounds. so, this whole busted-ankle thing creates a problem: how do i loose said 500 pounds? i think running is out of the picture for a while.

these little boys keep showering us with pictures of flowers and power rangers--
possibly the best combination ever.

speaking of good combinations, i love my roommate. she makes me laugh and keeps me grounded.

cheers to the freaking weekend.

life is good.
i love those three words.  i feel extremely blessed today.  i finally feel as if i am coming to grips with my future.  i again have a plan and i am ready to move forward.

i can honestly say that the peace i feel in life is directly attributed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  how grateful i am for the happiness it brings; for the hope i feel when i realize i have a best friend in the Savior.  He is there and He is real, He is acquainted with every one of my dreams, sorrows, joys and fears.

i am one lucky girl.

maybe it's due to the fact that i live in hawaii but, no matter who i met or where i go, someone will always ask,
"do you have a polynesian boyfriend?"
so, to get it out there and to answer the question you have all been wondering:
"yes, yes i do have a boyfriend...and he is three."

he does yoga with me, tells me i am beautiful, that he likes my clothes, my necklace, my nail polish, my legs.
and he call's my roommate akon.

he rocks
&
we're hot.

a shark week nasa would be proud of.

first off, i am so very thankful this week is over.  how i survived seven different children all under the age of 5, i will never know.  of course i couldn't have made it out alive if it weren't for shelbey and maggie.  thanks to them i was able to retain some sanity.  however, i think i lost most of it.

below is the proof.

to say the least, it was a fun night of dress ups.

...and by the way, i am seriously doubting my desire to ever become a mom.
it is really, really hard work.
