nailed em'.

Ok, so now that this long journey of being a criminal has finally come to an end, I can give the whole story of my conviction without worrying my little head off.
May 8th was just like any other normal day. I woke up, went to the temple, got ready, went to Borders with Trent, Porter, and Shelbey and as I was in the middle of making my mom's Mother's Day gift, I got a call from Marcus Smith. To be honest, I blatantly ignored it. Approximately 10 seconds later, I received a call from Corbin Rumsey. I was baffled as to why I was receiving a call from him that late in the evening so I answered. I was even more confused when I heard Marcus' voice on the other end. They were together at Will's Pit stop and before I knew it they were on their way to my house. Shelbey and I hopped into Marcus' car and without even thinking twice, we were on our way to the Brigham Young University Lavell Edward's Stadium. Sneaking into the stadium was something Corbin and I had wanted to do before we turned 18 so we thought we would give it a shot. The one mistake being, I had turned 18 the week prior to this escapade and he had only been 18 for a couple weeks. In a matter of seconds we were over the fence and into the stadium. Mission accomplished. We played tag for a bit and were on our way out when out of the darkness came a voice yelling at us to stop. We immediately started running. WE WERE SO STUPID. I will be the absolute first to admit that. The voice continued to yell at us, they said they were the police so, we stopped. I was terrified but, who else can say they wet themselves on the 50 yard line, eh, eh? Nobody. That's right.
They walked us over to their car and by 10:30 that night we were cited with a misdemeanor trespassing violation and were being taken home in a cop car. Our court date was set for June 24th and we were told the judge would "slap our hands" and we would be sent on our way. Shelbey was contacted by the honor code office and was given the task to chose 10 legal activities she could've been doing with friends instead of trespassing. We thought we had gotten off easy....yet did we know!
At the beginning of June we were contacted by the Police department and were informed that our court date had been changed to the 15th of July and we would now need to go and get pictured and have our fingerprints taken. OH BOY!!....our lucky day. Corbin was out of town the 15th so he received permission to change his to August 5th. Shelbey and I appeared in court on the 15th only to be told to come back August 5th in order to receive legal council. At this point, I had become a nervous wreck. A class misdemeanor (failure to stop at the command of a law officer) could result in a fine of up to 4 thousand and something dollars. How on earth was I suppose to pay that?! I contacted Brother Leavitt and he agreed to help us. What a saint. On August 5th Shelbey, Corbin and I appeared in court and with Brother Leavitt's expertise the prosecutor dismissed the Class A charges against us and gave us a 6 month plea in abeyance. WOOT. Which means as long as I do not do anything illegal for 6 months, the charges will be dropped and will not go on my record. WOOT. I had to pay a $150 dollar fine which was the pits. But, that is so much better than 4,000 dollars! I am so relieved to be done with this whole ordeal. I hope I never have to go back to the 4th District Municipal Court or the police station again, the people there aren't exactly my type of people.
Lesson learned: I am one stupid teenager.

la la la....

I have so much on my mind today. I hope I don't bore you with all that is going on. First off I leave in 41 days!! Corbin leaves in 7 days which is even crazier! Oh-em-gosh I am so excited. I can not wait to get away. But along with a new beginning leaves an ending. I hate goodbyes. I will miss my family to death but I feel it extremely appropriate to publicly express how much I am going to miss my two best friends, Shelbey and Maggie. I do not know what I am going to do without them. There is this quote that says, "We are not put in circles of friendship by coincidence, but by divine design." I have such a strong testimony of that. I seriously don't think I could have survived high school or even life without them! They are the sisters I never had. Who is going to yell at innocent bystanders with me? or go to the temple with me every week? or be there to listen to me rant about my WO's? or be there to help me pick out an outfit for a hot date? I HAVE NO IDEA! They are so great. I am so blessed to be able to call them my best friends! We never fight and we understand each other's sense's of humor to the T.
BEST. FRIENDS. FOREVER.

Next topic: I have seen four movies this past week, Inception, Despicable Me, Charlie St. Cloud, and Salt. I loved Inception because it had such an interesting storyline. The acting was incredible, I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of my new favorite actors. It was clean and Hans Zimmer did the music so of course that was fantastic. Despicable Me was so cute. I laughed but most of all I loved it because I went with Courtney, I am so glad she and I have become better friends lately she is an amazing cousin. Charlie St. Cloud was decent. I would never have to see it again. To be honest I was a little creeped out by Zac Effron's character. I know loosing a little brother would be so hard but, when he starts making love to an almost-dead-spirit in the middle of a grave yard, I couldn't help but think, "What the crap is going on?!". Despite that, I had so much fun going with Kalani Kau and Jessica Moffat. Salt was worth seeing. I HATE Angelina Jolie but the movie was pretty good. Imagine a female version of Jason Bourne....a little weird...and let's face it, you can not compare to Matt Damon. It was long but I may just been thinking that because I was tired. Either way, it dragged on. It was a date which also made it more enjoyable. I also saw Robin Hood recently and it was incredible.
Third: BACHELORETTE SEASON FINALE TOMORROW! I can't wait.
Fourth: Court this Thursday. I am legitimately scared. I just do not know what to expect. Who knew sneaking into the stadium would give me this much grief? I sure didn't. I hope it turns out ok because I seriously regret ever sneaking in there in the first place. BAD IDEA.
Anyway, I think I am going to start writing in my actual journal more...blogging is just so much easier and convenient...I just want to avoid TMI on here...ya know?!...ahhh to be lazy or not to be lazy, that is the question.

I also found this book at Borders called Classy and I think I might just have to buy it. It was great.

Sweet Emotion

Monday, June 14, 2010

First I would like to thank my wonderful cousin Casey for her help in beautifying my blog. Doesn't it look good? Eh'...eh'? I spent about 3 hours yesterday trying to figure out what probably took her 10 minutes. What a women! And second, I might also add that this is the first post I am writing on my new laptop!! Yippee. Third, I want you all to know that the title of this post has absolutely nothing to do with what I'll be writing about. I just happen to be listening to "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith at this moment...
And fourth, I want to apologize for how awful I am of a blogger. I know I don't have a world of followers but I am horrible. I have not been keeping a journal just as predicted and I go weeks without writing anything on here, so, to my future family and loved ones: I am so sorry if the record you have of my life has huge chunks of details missing from it. So with that said...Here comes the latest from yours truly.
Ok. Can I just tell you that summer is the absolute best time of the year? I love it with some incomprehensible love. It is the best. I love the heat. But speaking of which, what the heck was that sick joke mother nature played on all of us this weekend? Hell, that's what that was. Summer is not suppose to be cold. I had the fire going while I watched the World Cup. WHAT THE BEEP? But, it's over, I've moved on.
Well, there are a few things I would like to mention while I am in a blogging mood. First, a little over a month ago, I McKenzie King, was arrested. For trespassing. What's up? That's what happens when four stupid teenagers decide to sneak into the BYU football stadium. So, I have a court date next week. Pray for me.
Second, I love Johnny Depp. I know most of you know that but, here's the deal: he is hot, incredible, talented....beautiful. I watched the Secret Window last night and I hated that he played the bad guy but it was such a good movie. Watch it. But, if swearing makes you cringe, go spend a little money and buy clearplay. Thank Heaven for the man that invented it. It had an incredible plot and at the end of the movie, you are left thinking, "Did that really just happen?" Watch it, I am telling you. It's crazy.
Third...Long blog posts are the pits.
Fourth, I have a new found obsession...The Bachelorette. Dang Maggie and Shelbey for getting me hooked. I love Chris L. What a winner.
Fifth...I have started singing up for classes and I am as excited as ever for BYUH. I am so thankful I got accepted and I am so pumped that I will have good friends over there. We are going to have a blast. I think Corbin and I talk about Hawaii more than anything else. I can't wait for all the adventures we are going to have!
Mk, I'll leave you with that. And I, promise, to be better at keeping this updated...for my sake, I am selfish, I know.
With love.
